Instruments Taught: Voice, Theory, Ear Training, French, Italian, German, and English Diction.

Times Available: Monday through Saturday: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Rates: $50.00 per Hour.

Educational Background: Graduated with Honors from Choate Rosemary Hall, B.M. from The Juilliard School, M.M. from Yale University School of Music.

Experience: Jonathan Taylor, tenor, is from Durham, North Carolina and is a recent graduate of the Yale University School of Music where he earned a master of music degree. Mr. Taylor graduated with honors from Choate Rosemary Hall and then earned a bachelor of music degree from the Juilliard School where he studied under W. Stephen Smith.  Mr. Taylor has performed numerous operatic roles, including Damon in Handel's Acis and Galatea, Martin in Copland's The Tenderland, Athamas in John Eccles' Semele, the Young Gypsy in Rachmaninov's Aleko, Rinuccio in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi, Tichon in Janácek's Kat'a Kabanová, Camille in Lehár's The Merry Widow, and most recently as Stroh in Strauss's Intermezzo with Pamela Armstrong and Raymond Very. Mr. Taylor has also appeared as soloist in numerous Bach Cantatas, Haydn's "Lord Nelson" Mass and Paukenmesse, Handel's Messiah, Mendelssohn's Elijah, and in Rossini's Petite Messe solennelle. He has appeared in recital with Margo Garrett, William Hobbs, Eric Trudel, Steven Blier, and most recently with J.J. Penna, performing Schubert's Die Schöne Müllerin in Sprague Memorial Hall. Outside of opera, Jonathan loves his work with the Hartford Symphony's educational outreach program, and he is an avid reggae music enthusiast.

Awards: Aspen Music Festival New Horizon fellow 2001-2003. 2001 award for outstanding composition in the style of Pallestrina at the Juilliard.
