Educational Background: Rachel holds a Master of Music Education and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Georgia.

Experience: Rachel recently taught music at Corley Elementary School in Gwinnett County, and is currently teaching piano students from Kindergarten to middle school. Rachel studied oboe and English horn with Dr. Dwight Manning at UGA. Under the instruction of both Betty White and Grace Caudle, Rachel engaged in formal piano study for over fifteen years. She was selected to perform in the All-State Piano Recital in Savannah for four years. As a middle and high school oboe student, Rachel was selected for All-State Band/Orchestra for five years. During her years at UGA, she served as an oboist and an English hornist in both the UGA Wind Symphony and UGA Symphony Orchestra.

Awards: Rachel is currently a member of Mensa. In 2004, she was awarded the GMEA Collegiate Scholar award and the Phi Beta Mu "Outstanding Music Education" Award. She was a First Honor Graduate, and a member of the Pi Kappa Lambda Honor Society.
